Jagger and Richards honoured for Rolling Stones achievements
Back in July, Sir Mick Jagger celebrated his 80th birthday with fellow Rolling Stones legend Keith Richards leaving him a special video message.
The guitarist told the singer who he’s been bandmates with for over 60 years: “Hey Mick, hey son. I guess long may we keep saying this to each other.
“Happy birthday Mick. You know have another good ‘un. And give me a call, let me know what it’s like!”
Well now Richards knows having turned 80 himself today, with a flock of well-wishing messages from Rolling Stones bandmates and fans being sent his way.

Richards’ team wrote on his own Instagram: “Happy Birthday, Keith! We love and respect you and honoured to be on your team!”
Jagger shared a picture with his bandmate and captioned it: “Happy birthday @officialkeef ! Love Mick.”
Meanwhile, Ronnie Wood did the same with a collage of snaps and wrote: “Happy 80th birthday @officialkeef!”
There was even a sweet message shared by the estate of late Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021.

Watts’ estate wrote on his behalf: “Wishing Keith Richards a very happy 80th birthday today! Charlie said of his lifelong friend, ‘Keith is the most interesting, the most different of us all…He’s a man of vision, and one of the few people who hasn’t really changed over the years. Wherever he goes, whatever he does, he’s always Keith. He’ll be in his room and all the stuff that makes him Keith will be there. The music’s going, the wine’s there, his guitar’s there, and he’ll be sitting in the middle of it all like some wonderful sultan. It’s fantastic. It’s not a new thing, it’s the way he’s always been.’”
Richards himself also paid tribute to his wife Patti Hansen, as today is also a milestone wedding anniversary for them both: “For Patricia, Happy 40th Anniversary! I love you. Keith.”
