A FLIGHT attendant of more than 10 years has revealed the travel product she makes sure to always put in her hand luggage.

And it's not just flight attendants – even astronauts used it.

Emily, who has been a flight attendant since 2012, has spent more than a decade flying around Asia and Europe.

She recently revealed her top products that she always packs to make her job easier.

She told Yahoo: "I don’t think it’s a miracle product to ward off colds the way that it was advertised.

"But it really keeps the inside of your nasal cavity lubricated, so I don’t feel like a dried-up corpse after long-haul flights."

Called the Ponaris Nasal Emollient, it contains oils including pine, peppermint and eucalyptus.

Sadly you can't currently get the product in the UK, although it costs around $20 in the US.

Used to reduce nasal congestion as well as inflamed nasal passages, it was included in the NASA medical space kit

Plane cabins are often much drier than the ground due to the high altitudes.

As the aircraft brings in air from the outside, the cold air has less moisture than the air below.

This can lead to the inside of your nose drying up, and make you more susceptible to illnesses, as it doesn't have a mucus barrier.

Using a nasal spray on the plane can also help with ear pain.

Ex-flight attendant Miffy previously explained: "A squirt of decongestant nasal spray up each nostril will help a bit with ear pain before flying as it helps clear out the Eustachian tubes. (Nothing else will.)

"Obviously not something you want to use all the time as they wreck your nasal mucosal lining with long-term usage but for flights, they’re a god-send."

Here are some other travel items frequent flyers often pack, including a £4 item that keeps your suitcase fresh.
