Whole wild west town on sale for less than the price of a London house – including a cinema, church and bar | The Sun

A RARE opportunity has arisen for potential homeowners to buy themselves not only a new house, but an entire town, for less than the price of a property in London.

Anyone who's ever had dreams of becoming a cowboy can now be the sheriff of their own wild west village.

To do so, they'll have to move to Yandoit in Victoria, Australia, but they'll get plenty for their money if they do.

The main property up for grabs is a three-bedroom home, but that comes with its own recreated 1880s settlement, modelled after Cross Creek village from the 1950s western film, The Fastest Gun Alive.

The town is built on 12.5 acres of land and has a general store, a theatre, a blacksmith, a stagecoach booking office, a grain store, a butcher’s, a courthouse, and a jail.

There's also a chapel that comes with seven creepy residents in the shape of mannequins, all ready and in position for a service.

Elsewhere, there's a saloon complete with yet another mannequin, this time in the form of a barman ready to dispense drinks to patrons.

The house itself is completely surrounded by wilderness, including views of Mount Franklin, an extinct volcano nearby, but is very modern, with plenty of luxury.

The kitchen is well equipped with a double fridge, an oven, a wood-burning stove, a large pantry and a dining table.

Meanwhile, there's also a huge cinema room, with padded reclining velvet seats and a giant screen.

A double garage and storage shed offers more than enough room to store vehicles and anything else.

Although having your own town may seem great, there's one not completely inhabited by mannequins nearby.

Daylesford, is only a 15-minute drive away and has shops, dining, tourist destinations and anything that a person could need.

The home and its town is currently for sale for £760,000 (AUS $1.45m), less than plenty of homes in London, with the average house price in the capital just under £600,000, according to the Office for National Statistics.

was built by Chris Olver and his wife Shirley, who are selling because they're struggling to manage the property at their age.

They built Cross Creek out of recycled materials Chris collected while working as a truck driver.

After putting it on the market earlier this year, Mr Olver described the property as a cross between "Australian colonial and the American wild west".

In March, he told Real Estate AU: “I thought, ‘I’ll build a little building', before I knew it I had another one and then another one. It’s a bit of Australian colonial with the American wild west.

"Yandoit is great place to live, it’s quiet and beautiful.

“I’m sorry to be selling but at my age, 77, it’s a bit hard to keep up with everything that needs to be done around here.”

Kim McQueen, the director of McQueen Real Estate, who manage the property, told Daily Mail Australia: "I've sold amazing properties in my career but I've never sold an intact village.

"It has 16-17 dwellings that have incredible detail."

Meanwhile these are the ten homes with the biggest price drop that you can buy now.
